Assalaamu Alaikum Warrahmatullahi Wa barakaatuhu.
First of all, thank you and Jizaakum Allah Khayran for taking the time to visit this page and showing interest in this book. Cook for the yateem is a charity drive aimed at compiling and selling a Ramadaan recipe book. ALL the proceeds from this book will Insha Allah be donated to a charity which works with Orphans in Somalia. More on this in the blog in due time, Insha Allah.
These are my initial thoughts / plans which are subject to change:
- Produce a 100 page Cook Book consisting of recipes from around the Muslim world.
- Publish this by 1st Sha’baan 1430- Thursday 23 July 2009 C.E
- Raise funds for producing the book before that date – Insha Allah because we want all the profit to go to the Organisation and not lose anything in the production costs.
- Promote the book. Sell the book.
- Send the initial profits to the charity before the end of Ramadan 1430 – So that the Orphans can enjoy it, Insha Allah.
I would love you help in all of the above. More on this in the blog, Insha Allah. I would also appreciate your thoughts and suggestions.

The cheapest I’ve been quoted 320 (pounds, sterling) for a hundred books. Alhamdulilah, this is a manageable figure, I’ve had some silly numbers thrown at me initially.
p.s I am also looking at the e-book option which you have mentioned on the other site. That’s actually a very good idea, Masha Allah. I have a few friends who will buy from abroad and that would be a great option for them- considering postage is so expensive. Cost effective for me too. Alhamdulilah. It’s all coming together now, can you tell that I’m such a novice?
